Neighborhood Child and Infant Care

DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE PRACTICES

Neighborhood Child Care Center’s curriculum is rooted in developmental practices. These practices include:

  • Child-led, hands-on learning activities balanced with teacher discovered activities.
  • Frequent and supportive interaction with teachers and peers.
  • A balance between active movement and quiet activities.
  • Senses based exploration of the environment.

We combine each of these practices into a curriculum that allows children the freedom to explore various topics. Activities are geared to touch each learning styles, including visual, auditory, and tactile learners, by giving children choices on how they can explore topics and express what they have learned.

N.C.I.C.C. teachers are encouraged to make learning real hands-on, thus building a strong foundation for the future.
