Avissa Beek-Peniston, Executive Director

Mrs. Peniston joined the NCICC team in 1978 as an experienced teacher migrated from Montego Bay Jamaica West Indies.  A wife, mother of 5 and grandmother of 6 a great-aunt of 2. As always a passion for working with children. In 2001 she took on the role as Executive Director, leading the program to NAEYC accreditation, to presently a Star Rated Program. Avissa continue to put NCICC on the road to “Excellence” by working with the state adhering to regulations and following the State Standards curriculum. Avissa’s description of NCICC is “The Best Kept Secret in Town Montclair”, Avissa takes pride to say we are here to provide a service to all who discover us. All of Avissa’s studies have been in the field of Early Childhood, Child development. Curriculum Studies and Mental Health Support. Avissa takes pride in mentoring her team while supporting them in their field of studies, Avissa shows the utter most respect for her Team and will make it her number one priority to show her appreciation to them. Avissa opens her office door to her team and to her family who needs to debrief or just chat.  When not doing childcare, Avissa enjoys traveling (cruising), cooking and reading a good book.
